Στεφ νου D* p vgRmg. The preposition π + dative read by B03 has the sense of ‘over’, i.e. ‘on account of’, whereas π + genitive means ‘in the time of’. The causal sense of B03 can also be conveyed by the D05 reading π + genitive (‘arising out of’)1, but the preposition π could equally be taken to signify ‘from the time of’. The absence of the article before Stephen in B03 can be explained by the fact that no mention has been made of Stephen since 8:2. By main- taining the article, D05 ties the two parts of the story of the scattered disciples closely together2. (μηδεν ) λαλο ντε τ ν λ γον B P74 ) rell ‖ τ. λ γ. λαλο ντε D d.
