The present section deals with the events concerning the conversion of Peter (Acts 9:31–11:18) whereby he at last comes to understand that the good news of Jesus is for Jews and Gentiles alike. Since the Greek pages of Codex Bezae are missing from 8:29 to 10:14 and the Latin ones from 8:20b to 10:4, we have noted in the Critical Apparatus the variants of other witnesses that differ from the Alexandrian text. From 10:4b (fol. 455a), the Latin text of Codex Bezae is available. The Greek text starts at 10:14b (fol. 455b).

D05 reinforces the notion of the church praying for Peter during the
night before he was due to be brought out to the people (in combination
with the other two variants in this verse, see below).

B03 completes the verb ν with a present participle, γινομ νη.
κτεν and ν κτενε are equivalent adverbial forms, but the latter
in D05 is a phrase used elsewhere only in association with the prayers
of Israel for salvation or deliverance (i.e. Acts 26:7 [D05 lac.] and Judith
4:9 LXX). κτεν is not found elsewhere in Luke’s writings (though the
comparative form is read by Lk. 22:44 D05 [om. B03]); in the LXX, the
context is one of repentance (Jon. 3:8; 3 Macc. 5:9).
The phrase Ï€ÎµÏ Î± το (= Peter) in D05 is in an emphatic position
following the adverbial phrase. That it is repeated at the end of the verse
may be intentional, to insist that it was Peter that the church was praying
for or it may reflect a conflation of two readings21.
The difference in preposition π / π makes little difference to the
sense but rather arises out of seeing either prayer being made by the
church to God (B03), or prayer emanating from the church (D05), the
latter corresponding to the phrase Ï€Ï Ï„ ν θε ν which is omitted by
B03 (see next variant).

The prepositional phrase may have been omitted because it was
thought to be obvious that the church’s prayer would be made to God. The
idea of prayer as communication is reinforced with the preposition π
in the immediately preceding prepositional phrase in D05 (see previous
variant).
