SEMANTICS
This
long exegetical art. first surveys the semantic field of ‘time’ and
‘salvation’ in Heb.
SEMIOTICS
See in general the review Sémiotique et Bible (Lyon).
This art. argues that the
expression ‘Son of Man’ is an idiomatic syntagm of Aramaic
origin, and that it can have a triple meaning (generic, indefinite,
circumloquial). It refers to a human being and it is not a mes-
sianic title.
STRUCTURES
See in general the review Linguistica Biblica (Bonn).
63. MERWE, D.J. van der, “The Protection Believers Can Expect from God
in the Fulfilment of their Missionâ€, SkrifK 21 (2000) 135-155.
This art. is a structural analysis of Jn 17:9-16. It observes that
the whole theological structure is determined by contrasts and
parallelisms around the concept of ‘protection’.
64. SURBURG, M.P., “Structural and Lexical Features in 1 Corinthians
11:27-32â€, ConcordJ 26 (2000) 200-217. This art. offers a detailed
analysis of this text: setting, structure, lexical features. All these
indicate that this text does not diminish the sacramental empha-
sis of 11:27-32.
