The present section deals with the events concerning the conversion of Peter (Acts 9:31–11:18) whereby he at last comes to understand that the good news of Jesus is for Jews and Gentiles alike. Since the Greek pages of Codex Bezae are missing from 8:29 to 10:14 and the Latin ones from 8:20b to 10:4, we have noted in the Critical Apparatus the variants of other witnesses that differ from the Alexandrian text. From 10:4b (fol. 455a), the Latin text of Codex Bezae is available. The Greek text starts at 10:14b (fol. 455b).

two verses mirror each other in their positive and negative aspects, ac-
cording to the articulation of Codex Bezae.

D05 makes a clear distinction between the word of God, meaning
communication between God and humanity in general (originally through
the Torah), and the word of the Lord, meaning the message of Jesus in
particular. The AT does not appear to distinguish between the two terms.
The variation on this occasion affects the interpretation of the verse.

B03 reads the verb Ï€Î¿ÏƒÏ„Ï Ï†Ï‰, to ‘return’, and in the plural to con-
cord with Barnabas and Saul as the subject. D05 has the verb Ï€Î¿ÏƒÏ„Ï Ï†Ï‰
meaning to ‘separate’, which reflects the theological separation from
Ierousalem, a motif not apparent in the B03 text of Acts in general but
a dominant theme in that of D05. The singular considers Barnabas and
Saul to be acting in unison. This variant should be considered in combi-
nation with the following one.
